Upcoming in 5.1
Awesome new features in SimpleD 5.1
Okay. SimpleDiagrams 5.1 is on the way this week (promises promises), and there are a few things I'm keen to get into your hands.
UML. New shapes and relationship connectors for sketching software: classes, interfaces, use cases and sequence diagrams. Lifelines, messages, the little inheritance arrows. All with the usual SimpleD hand-drawn feel.
BPMN. A new library with 89 shapes for business process diagrams, including events, tasks and gateways, plus the flows to connect them. Pools and swimlanes help show who does what.
Visio import. Bring a modern Visio drawing into SimpleDiagrams and keep working on it. You can import Visio stencils as custom shape libraries too. It's not perfect, but the importer tells you what didn't come across exactly, and leaves the original file alone.
And more stuff, because everyone likes more stuff: containers that carry their shapes with them, tables you can type straight into, and callouts whose tails stay attached. I've also been working on smoother/quicker editing in large diagrams, better connector behaviour and clearer Shape Data.
So, basically a little more formal structure when you need it. But still a friendly place to get an idea onto the screen. And as always *very* open to ideas so make contact and tell me what's good, bad, and missing.
