UML Shapes, now in SimpleDiagrams.

SimpleDiagrams 5.1 include UML shapes.

SimpleDiagrams has lots of shapes for your UML diagrams.

Yes, UML for you and you and you

I've added a UML library to SimpleDiagrams 5.1. Class boxes, actors, sequence diagram lifelines and ready-made relationships, all with the familiar SimpleD hand-drawn feel.

What's UML?

Funny you should ask. UML stands for Unified Modeling Language. It gives you a shared set of symbols for explaining software: what the parts are, how they relate, and who calls whom. Handy when a paragraph of explanation would be better as a few boxes and arrows.

UML Support in SimpleD

Sketch a class diagram with names, attributes and operations. Connect the boxes with inheritance, composition or dependency lines, without setting up each arrowhead yourself. Or put a few lifelines side by side and add messages to show how a request moves through your system.

The boxes are editable, the connectors stay attached, and you can mix UML shapes with anything else on the canvas. Keep it simple, add a note, move things around as the conversation changes.

To get started, open the UML library in SimpleDiagrams 5.1 and drag a few shapes onto the canvas. It comes built in.
